NF Academy 2026

Educating young NF Ambassadors

The NF Academy is a program to educate young people to become ambassador for the rare disease Neurofibromatosis. In a one week training course there are lessons on medical topics for NF, mental health and essentials for the work as an ambassador for other patients. This event is conducted together with one our NF member organisations in  Europe.

2026: NF Academy in Rotterdam

We are happy to announce that this summer the NF academy will take place in Rotterdam. It is supported by the Erasmus MC. It will be an educational program, a mixture of joint discussions and individual work. Young patients as well as siblings of patients will learn about NF1, NF2 and Schwannomatosis, patient advocacy, patient involvement in research and how to deal with the challenges that they are facing.

Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Date: Aug. 22nd – 28th, 2026
Participants can be patients and also siblings or parents of patients with NF
Age group: 19 – 35 years
Diploma: Certificate as NF Ambassador

As a participant you need to have: The willingness to become active NF patient advocate and support your national NF organisation. Adequate English-skills with level B1 and up is needed to follow the discussions and talks. You can test your language skills here.
Remember: There is still a lot of time to improve your English until start of the NF Academy!
