NF Awareness

May is official NF Awareness Month

NF Awareness Month 2026 - official template

May is official NF Awareness Month, so there is no better time to raise public awareness for this rare genetic disease. NFPU does this together with its 17 European member organisations. It’s important for the NF community that not only those affected by it educate themselves about NF, but also their families as well as people in the health sector, namely doctors or healthcare workers. This is why NF Patients United is launching a special awareness campaign each year in May

Our Year’s NF Awareness Campaign
#FactsAboutNF

This year, NF Patients United is proud to introduce the #FactsAboutNF campaign. We have invited NF patients and family members from our member organisations across Europe to share social media videos explaining what NF is and how it affects their daily lives and those closest to them.

And you can be part of it too! Anyone is welcome to participate:
Simply create a video sharing a fact about NF and your personal connection to it. Together, we can make NF more visible and impossible to ignore!

Shine a Light on NF 🪩

Several of our member organisations, such as NF Ireland, NF Greece, NF Česko and NF Slovakia are additionally taking part in the Shine a Light on NF campaign. Initially this campaign was initiated by the Children’s Tumor Foundation. As part of this initiative, buildings, monuments and landmarks around the world will be illuminated in NF’s official colours, blue and green, to bring greater public visibility to Neurofibromatosis.
